Foster Care is a temporary option, that will give you time as a parent to get yourself organised and prepared to take care of your child yourself.   You will be able to remain in contact with your baby/child, but it is temporary and should result in your reunification with your child after no longer than 2 years
Foster care is a legal process, the sad part is that there are not a lot of foster parents, so even though it is an option for you, it might not be available due to shortage of foster families.

the Foster Care parents are entitled to a foster care grant with they can apply to, at their local SASSA.
